Shooting (Arlington)

The Arlington Police Department responded to a report of a shooting around 6 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 in the 6000 block of W. Poly Webb Road. Officers believe that this was the result of an attempted robbery of the victim. While it is still early in the investigation, detectives believe that the victim, a man in his 20’s, was jogging to a local gym in the area. The victim noticed a pickup truck that appeared to be following him and circle in front of him in a business parking lot. The victim reported that a suspect, later determined to be a juvenile, exited from the passenger side of the pickup and pointed a firearm at him while demanding his property. The victim pulled out a concealed firearm and began shooting at the suspect, striking him at least once in the leg.
The suspect fled to the pickup truck which was later found abandoned on Cedar Cove Court and Lindberg Drive. The pickup was determined to be stolen out of Arlington on February 16, 2017. Officers received information that the suspect then entered an SUV driven by an adult female. This SUV was stopped by officers at the intersection of Poly Webb Road and Little Road. The suspect was compliant and transported to the hospital for treatment. Based upon the fact that the suspect is a juvenile, no additional identifying information will be released on the suspect.
Detectives are still trying to figure out the female’s involvement and determine who the driver of the pickup was. The victim was not injured and is being interviewed by detectives. Crime scene is processing both vehicles and the shooting scene.

Major Accident (Dallas)

Truck 43, Engine 43, Engine 30, Dallas Sheriffs deputies, and Dallas PD are all on scene of a major accident involving a vehicle fire and 18 wheeler rollover southbound I35E near Royal Lane. Multiple vehicles involved. Unknown injuries. All southbound lanes will be closed for extensive clean up. Big delays. Avoid!

Shooting (Dallas)

Information from Dallas Police Department: On February 20, 2017, at approximately 3:33 PM officers responded to a shooting call at 9633 Ferris Branch apartment 318. Upon arrival, officers found a Black female in the parking lot of the apartment complex with a gunshot wound to her leg. She directed officers to apartment 318 and Dallas Fire Rescue transported her to Presbyterian Hospital in good condition. Officers located apartment 318 and found the victim, Jason Ali Edwards B/M/39, deceased in the apartment from gunshot wounds. Dallas Fire Rescue pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. Homicide, Crime Scene and the DCME’s office responded to the scene. A canvass of the area and witnesses interviewed stated that a silver four door vehicle was seen leaving the complex after the shooting. The witnesses stated that a B/M wearing a black and red jacket was seen leaving the apartment and entering the silver vehicle.

House Fire (Wylie)

Wylie Quint 142 is on scene with fire and smoke showing from the roof of a house in the 3500 block of W. Olivia Drive. Murphy FD and Sachse FD have been dispatched to assist. Battalion 140 has command. Everyone is out of the house.

Search (Ft Worth)

Multiple Fort Worth PD units and FWPD Air-1 helicopter are searching for a possible armed person in the area of Keller Haslet Road and Vista Greens Drive on the north side. Units are searching around a pond near the location. Reports indicate a white male wearing a backpack, black baseball cap, blue jeans, and a dark shirt possibly had a weapon. Very heavy police activity in this area. Its best to avoid the area.

Update – Suspect is accused of firing at an officer. The suspect is now in custody and units are beginning to clear the scene. Great job FWPD!

Police Activity (North Richland Hills)

On February 18, 2017 at 6:49 AM, a North Richland Hills officer initiated a traffic stop in the 6300 block of Davis Boulevard. After the vehicle stopped, the officer approached from the passenger side of the vehicle to speak with the driver. It was reported that the driver without warning, made a sudden lunge towards the officer, while reaching behind the passenger seat for a weapon. In fear for their life, the officer discharged one round from their duty weapon. The round however, did not injure the driver. The driver began complying with officer commands. Additional units arrived on scene, and the driver of the vehicle was placed in to custody. Officers observed a machete located behind the passenger seat.
The officer has been placed on administrative leave, as per policy, while an internal investigation is conducted. The driver of the vehicle was transported to the North Richland Hills jail, charges pending.

Investigation (Arlington)

Arlington PD and Crime Scene are on scene at an apartment complex near the 4900 block of S. Cooper Street. A crime scene is established at the apartment complex next to the Denny’s restaurant. Unknown details at this time, but reports indicate it was a possible shooting.

Major Accident (Frisco)

Frisco FD/EMS and PD are working a major accident on Preston Road between Main St. and Eldorado Pkwy. Multiple ambulances are on scene to transport multiple victims. Injuries are serious and potentially critical. Extrication has been completed. All lanes of Preston Road are closed at this time. Avoid this area.

Pursuit End (Johnson County)

At 09:19 am today, the Cleburne Police Department received information about a possible disturbance in a vehicle in the 2200 block of N Main. The caller advised a female and a male were in a vehicle and possibly needed help. Once the Cleburne Police Department located the vehicle, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. Officers pursued the vehicle into the county. At FM 2280 and Slayton Road, the fleeing vehicle wrecked into some trees. There were no other vehicles involved in the wreck. The male driver fled on foot. The female passenger was located in the vehicle with minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to a hospital. A Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Warden deployed his K9 and was able to locate the suspect. He has been identified as Bobby Glen Wimbish, II, a 37 year old male from Cleburne. Wimbish was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Pardon and Parole and has also been charged with Evading Arrest in a Vehicle. The Cleburne Police Department would like to thank the following agencies for their assistance: Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Warden and K9, Johnson County Constable, Keene PD, and Burleson PD.


Cleburne PD, Johnson County sheriffs, DPS troopers, Keene PD, and Game Warden K-9 are all on scene of a pursuit end near FM 2280 and Slayton Road. Law enforcement was pursuing a vehicle when it wrecked out and the subject fled on foot. Johnson County is on scene utilizing a drone to help search for the suspect. This is all happening near the community of Egan north of Keene. Its best to stay away from this area.

Update – Suspect has just been caught with the help of K9!

Accident w/ Entrapment (Frisco)

Battalion 2, Quint 6, Medic 6, Rescue 1, Truck 4, and Frisco PD are on scene of a major accident with reported entrapment on Rockhill Parkway under the Dallas N. Tollway. At least two cars involved and one person trapped. Requesting a second ambulance to the scene. Extrication is in progress.

Update – Extrication complete. Medic 6 is ground transporting one patient to THR Plano, potentially serious injuries.

Major Accident (Godley)

CareFlite has airlifted a patient from the scene of a major accident, possible auto pedestrian, in Godley at FM 2331/Pearson St. and Allen Ave. The accident occurred around 3:30pm. Godley FD, CareFlite ground and air EMS, and law enforcement all responded.

Shooting (Ft Worth)

Multiple Fort Worth PD units are on scene of a reported shooting in the 2600 block of W. 7th Street. FWPD responded to the area of Montgomery Plaza for a shooting incident around 12:30pm.A suspect is in custody. One person transported to a local hospital, but no major injuries are reported.  The investigation is ongoing. Expect heavy police presence on scene throughout the afternoon.

Restaurant Fire (Plano)

Plano Fire is still on scene of an early morning fire at a restaurant in the 900 block of N. Central Expressway. Engine 1 was first on scene around 4:30am this morning with fire showing from the Corner Bakery restaurant. FD crews are still in defensive attack mode and have advised of a possible impending structural collapse. Expect fire activity at this scene throughout the day.

Gunshot Wound (Little Elm)

Little Elm PD and FD are on scene of a reported shooting in the 2900 block of Baybreeze Drive. One person shot in the abdomen. Air Medical was on standby, but disregarded. Little Elm EMS will be ground transporting the patient. Expect heavy PD presence due to investigation.

Rollover Accident (Keller)

Keller FD and PD are on scene of a reported vehicle rollover, possibly striking a house, in the 600 block of Keller Smithfield Road and Johnson Road. At least two patients. Requesting a second ambulance to the location. CareFlite is on standby. Now requesting a third ambulance to the scene.

Rollover Accident (Arlington)

Arlington Engine 16 is on scene of a vehicle rollover with multiple people injured on southbound Hwy 360/Watson Road near Webb Lynn Road. Two truck companies, an additional engine, and Battalion Chief are all en route along with Arlington EMS and Arlington PD. Update – Launching air medical to the scene. Grand Prairie FD is also on scene with multiple units. PHI Med 8 helicopter en route. Requesting a total of three ambulances from Arlington EMS, and two Grand Prairie ambulances reportedly on scene.

Barricaded Person (Arlington)

*Delayed for officer safety* Pantego PD, Dalworthington Gardens PD, and Arlington PD have taken a suspect into custody from a barricaded person situation in the 2500 block of Windy Pine Lane. AISD held children at nearby Short Elementary due to the situation. One person is in custody at this time.

Barricaded Person (Arlington)

*Delayed for officer safety* Pantego PD, Dalworthington Gardens PD, and Arlington PD have taken a suspect into custody from a barricaded person situation in the 2500 block of Windy Pine Lane. AISD held children at nearby Short Elementary due to the situation. One person is in custody at this time.

Large Grass Fire (Crandall)

Crandall FD with assistance from Forney, Scurry, Combine, and Seagoville FDs are working to contain a large grass fire off S. FM 148 south of Crandall near the Central Baptist Church. Unknown size at this time. Heavy smoke is visible from this fire.

Fatality Accident (Grand Prairie)

From TxDPS: At approximately 8:45 a.m. highway patrol troopers were called to a crash on the President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) near IH 30. Preliminary information reveals a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup was traveling south on the PGBT. A disabled semi-trailer was parked on the left shoulder of the PGBT between the IH 30 east exit ramp and the IH 30 west exit ramp. For an as yet undetermined reason, the driver of the pickup traveled onto the shoulder and struck the rear of semi-trailer. The driver of the pickup died at the scene. No other injuries were reported. The name of the driver is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The roadway was closed for approximately 3 hours.

Major Accident with Entrapment (2600 Blk of FM544)

Major Accident with Entrapment (2600 Blk of FM544) Medic 166 and E166 on scene of a pickup truck vs a shipping truck with major damage and one person pinned. Requesting a 2nd truck from Carrollton to assist with extensive extrication. PHI Med 10 helicopter also enroute. A3

Update to Lewisville accident – Extrication has been completed. Patient being transported by ground to Plano Presbyterian ER.

Major Accident (Ennis)

Ennis Truck 192, Engine 192, Medic 192, Medic 191, and others are on scene of a major accident involving a vehicle and an 18 wheeler on northbound I45 near Creechville Road. Major damage. Launching PHI air medical to the scene.

HazMat (White Settlement)

White Settlement Engine 218, Truck 218, Brush 218, Lockheed Martin FD HazMat unit, MedStar, and White Settlement PD are working a reported hazardous materials incident in the 1400 block of Heidi Court. Residents are encouraged to avoid this area.

Auto Ped (Collin County)

Westminster FD, Blue Ridge FD, Anna FD, Collin County EMS, Collin County sheriffs and DPS troopers are all working a major accident, reported to be an auto vs pedestrian, on SH 121 between CR 528 and SH 160. Same area as the oil spill yesterday. PHI Med 2 helicopter has landed at the scene for air transport. All lanes of 121 are closed! (Information: First Response Photography)

Major Accident (Burleson)

Burleson FD has landed CareFlite at the scene of a major accident on northbound I35W service road (Burleson Blvd) near Bethesda Road. There is also a separate incident on southbound I35W involving a vehicle fire. The highway is closed southbound for this vehicle fire. These are two separate incidents.

Apartment Fire (Plano)

Truck 8 and Engine 8 are on scene with smoke showing from an apartment building in the 6900 block of Preston Road. Engine 7 reports a victim from the fire. Battalion 1 requesting a second ambulance to the scene.

Now reporting two victims and requesting 3 ambulances.

Update – Requesting CareFlite helicopter to the scene for one of the victims.

Update – Medic 10 ground transporting one patient to Medical Center of Plano, severe burns, CPR is in progress.

Update – CareFlite 4 airlifting one patient to Parkland. Plano Medic 10 ground transported a patient with severe burns.

Major Accident (Rockwall)

Rockwall FD, Rockwall County EMS, and Rockwall PD are working a major accident on eastbound I30 near FM 549. Rockwall PD reports all eastbound I30 lanes are closed at John King Blvd. Reports of an 18 wheeler vs another vehicle. Unknown injuries. Expect an extended closure.

Incidents (Ellis County)

Public safety crews were busy overnight in Ellis County with multiple serious incidents. Here’s a rundown:
2AM: Major Accident (Waxahachie) Waxahachie Fire Dept., Ellis County EMS, and law enforcement all responded to a major accident at Ovilla Road and 287 bypass around 2am. Multiple ambulances responded. Reported vehicle rollover. Several children were transported, at least one by air medical helicopter, to Children’s Medical Center Dallas.
4AM: Major Accident (Forreston) Forreston FD and other emergency responders responded to a reported vehicle vs. pole crash off Highway 77 between Forreston and Waxahachie. At least two transported from the scene with reported serious injuries.
There was also a shooting near Maypearl, but we have not heard any details on that scene. Busy night for Ellis County!

Apartment Fire (Plano)

Battalion 1, Truck 5, Engine 5 are on scene of a working fire at an apartment complex in the 3400 block of W Park Blvd. Engine 2 establishing a water supply. 

Update – Fire in the kitchen of one of the apartment units. Fire knocked down by interior crews.

3 Alarm Fire (Dallas)

A fire in Dallas has quickly escalated to 3 alarms, 4900 block of Eastside Ave. Setting up aerial operations and working to protect multiple exposures. A third alarm was requested within minutes of the second alarm. Two story building fully involved.

Major Accident (Mansfield)

Mansfield Fire/EMS and Police are working a major accident on the southbound US-287 exit for Lone Star Road. Possible ejection. Units have landed PHI Med 8 helicopter at the scene. The exit ramp to Lone Star Road form 287 has been shut down.

PHI Med 8 has lifted from the scene en route to JPS with one patient. Possible femur fracture.

Fatality Accident (Plano)

Just after 2:15am, Plano Engine 1, Truck 1, and Medic 1 were dispatched to a traffic crash on northbound US-75 near the President George W. Bush Turnpike. One vehicle struck the back of an 18 wheeler. FD units advised there were two patients, one person deceased on the scene and one person with critical injuries. Northbound 75 was closed for several hours this morning, but has since been reopened.

Body Found (Dalworthington Gardens)

Dalworthington Gardens PD and Arlington PD are investigating a body found in Pappy Elkins Lake, 3300 block of Elkins Drive. Just after 1pm, an officer on patrol notified dispatch that there was a body in Pappy Elkins Lake. Arlington PD responded to assist with the crime scene and investigation. The body has been recovered and released to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner. The investigation is ongoing.

Rescue (Dallas)

Multiple Dallas Fire Rescue crews are on scene of a rescue situation at a 15 story building near Greenville Ave and LBJ. Engine 57 reports one person is suspended from a top floor of the building. Possibly two people in need of rescue. Urban Search and Rescue has been dispatched to the scene.

Update – DFR confirms first person was successfully rescued. Working on second rescue at this time.

Major Accident (Burleson)

Burleson FD, PD, and MedStar are working a major accident on northbound I35W near Alsbury. CareFlite 1 has just landed at the scene. NB I35W is closed. Avoid this area!

This is a fatality accident. One patient passed away at Cook Children’s just after 9am this morning, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner.

Major Accident (Lewisville)

Lewisville FD, Lake Cities FD, and multiple law enforcement are on scene of a major accident northbound I35E at the Lake Lewisville bridge. Reports indicate the accident involves 18 wheeler and at least one vehicle. One vehicle has crashed into the water. No major injuries, but traffic is heavy in the area. Its best to find another route.

Major Accident (Denton County)

Prosper and Little Elm units are working a major accident on Highway 380 between Magnolia Blvd and FM 1385. CareFlite has been launched to the scene. Also requesting Frisco’s Rescue 1 truck. At least two vehicles involved, major damage. Highway 380 will be completely closed. One person is heavily trapped in a vehicle that crashed under a box truck.

2 Alarm Fire (Bedford)

Bedford FD has been working a 2 alarm fire at Texas Land and Cattle, 1813 Hwy 121. Fire and smoke showing upon arrival, per Bedford FD. Avoid this area. The fire is now under control, but extensive overhaul operations are in progress.

Hot Pursuit (Ft Worth)

Fort Worth PD and others are in hot pursuit eastbound 820 approaching Highway 26. 90 MPH reported. UPDATES BELOW

*Update – The pursuit has ended as a successful spike hit on the suspect vehicle, eastbound 183 at 360. Two suspects in custody. Great job to FWPD and other agencies who assisted.

Major Accident (Rendon)

Rendon Engine 26, Medic 26, and law enforcement are on scene of a major accident on Rendon Road near Renwood Drive. One vehicle major damage. Serious injuries are reported. Air medical has declined due to weather. Engine 26 requesting Everman FD for assistance. Possible ejection. Avoid this area.

Gas Leak (Bedford)

Bedford FD is working a major gas leak in the 200 block of Harwood Road between Norwood Drive and Brown Trail. A full one alarm assignment is on scene. Harwood Road is closed in this area. Please avoid the area!

Motorcycle Accident (Alvarado)

We’ve had several people asking what the hold up was on Highway 67 in Alvarado this evening. Alvarado FD and CareFlite ground EMS landed CareFlite for a motorcycle accident on E Hwy 67 near Baugh Street. The accident has been cleared and the roadway is open.

Search (Kennedale)

Kennedale PD, Arlington PD, DPS-101 helicopter and other law enforcement officers are searching for a subject on foot in the area of Bowman Springs Road and Corry A Edwards Road. Schools are on lockdown and Bowman Springs Road is closed in front of Fellowship Christian Academy. Avoid this area.
