Fatality Accident (Johnson Co)

Rio Vista FD, Cleburne FD, CareFlite ground EMS, and multiple law enforcement are on scene of a major accident on S. Highway 174 between Cleburne and Rio Vista. Reported as a possible head-on crash with entrapment. One patient is deceased at the scene. Avoid this area.

DRILL (Ft Worth)

There is a large training exercise today at the UNT Health Science Center on Camp Bowie in Fort Worth. The drill involves Fort Worth FD and PD, TCU PD, MedStar EMS, and UNTHSC PD. If you are in the area expect heavy police and fire presence. ***The training is just a drill***

Shooting/ Barricaded Person (Johnson County)

*Delayed for officer/personnel safety* Law enforcement is investigating a reported shooting incident in the 100 block of Harriette Circle just off Highway 174 between Cleburne and Rio Vista. A shooting occurred and the victim was airlifted by CareFlite 6 into Fort Worth. The suspect from the original shooting then barricaded inside a home for a short time. During the barricaded person incident, the suspect was also shot (unknown circumstances at this time) and has since been flown by CareFlite 2 to JPS. Numerous Johnson County sheriffs deputies are on scene to investigate this incident. More details tomorrow.

6 Alarm Fire (Dallas)

Dallas Fire Rescue is working a large structure fire at 7800 LBJ Freeway. Reports of a motel/hotel on fire with a couple of units involved. Command has reported they are chasing the fire at this time. More information will follow.

Fire (Dallas)

Dallas Fire-Rescue is working a fire at American Airlines Center. Fire is out at this time, but units are working on removing smoke from inside the building. Expect several DFR units around the AAC.

Shooting (Ft Worth)

Fort Worth PD is on scene of a reported shooting incident in the 3800 block of Wharton Drive. There will be a very large police presence including Air-1 helicopter over the scene. AVOID this area.

Update – FWPD was responding to 9-1-1 reports of a person shot at a house in the 3800 block of Wharton Drive.

Update – Confirmed officer involved shooting.

Full update: Southside officers responded to a person with a gunshot wound in the 3800 block of Wharton Drive at around 8:30pm this evening. The first officers were on scene within a few minutes. A deceased person was located in the house with a gunshot wound to the head. It was noted that there was a possible witness to the shooting in a shed behind the residence. As officers were investigating, they encountered gunfire and returned shots. Both officers were struck. One officer was shot multiple times and is currently in critical condition. The other officer was struck in the chest, but his body armor deflected the bullet. As of midnight, over 160 officers from patrol, SWAT, tactical med, Zero Tolerance, and more are assigned to the incident.

Major Accident (Forreston)

Forreston FD, Ellis County Medic 162, and multiple law enforcement are on scene of a major accident on northbound I35E near Chambers Creek between Italy and Forreston. Air Evac 51 has been launched to the scene.

Update – Air Evac 51 airlifting one to Baylor Hillcrest. One patient is also deceased on the scene.

Rollover w/ Entrapment (Ft Worth)

Battalion 4, Quint 24, Engine 24, Engine 14, Rescue 14, Engine 22, MedStar, and FWPD are all working a rollover accident with entrapment off the East Loop 820 service road between Ramey and Berry streets. Vehicle reportedly rolled off the roadway. Extrication in progress. MedStar advising one person has serious injuries.

Rollover Accident (Hillsboro)

Hillsboro FD, CareFlite ground EMS, Hill County sheriffs deputies and DPS troopers are all working a rollover accident on northbound I35E just north of the split in north Hillsboro. Air Evac 51 out of Hillsboro and CareFlite 6 out of Whitney have both landed at the scene and PHI Med 6 is en route from Corsicana. Do not take northbound I35E from the split.

Major Accidents (Denton)

US-380 is closed in all directions between FM 156 and I35 in west Denton due to two serious car accidents. CareFlite airlifted a patient from one of the accident scenes to Baylor Grapevine. There is no estimated time of reopening 380. Denton PD is advising drivers to avoid this area.

Update – 380 reopened for limited traffic. Confirmed fatality from this accident.

DART Accident (Dallas)

Engine 18, Dallas PD and others are working an accident involving a vehicle and a DART train near the 400 block of Olive Street in downtown Dallas. This will be at the St. Paul Station, per DART. DFR is assessing any possible injuries. Expect delays in this area.

Body Found (Grapevine)

Information from Grapevine Police: At approximately 6:30am on Wednesday, September 14, Grapevine Police officers were dispatched to Acorn Woods Park at 1000 Oak Grove Loop South. Police were alerted to a body that was located in a wooded area. It was soon discovered that the body had been dismembered and burned to some degree. Grapevine detectives are investigating this death as a homicide. The FBI and Texas Rangers are providing additional resources to assist in the investigation. Detectives and Crime Scene technicians cleared the scene about 6:30pm this evening and the park is now reopen to the public.

Tanker Rollover (Denton County)

Argyle FD, Justin Police, and others are on scene of a reported grease truck rollover on FM 407 near Mulkey Lane. All lanes of FM 407 are closed at this time. Denton FD’s HazMat team has been requested to the scene. No serious injuries reported. Expect extended closure of FM 407 through the evening.

Fatality Accident (Forest Hill)

Forest Hill PD is investigating a vehicle vs. 18 wheeler crash on the eastbound SE Loop 820 / I20 service road just east of Forest Hill Drive near the Walgreens. Single vehicle struck the back of an 18 wheeler. Significant damage to the vehicle. One person deceased at the scene. The service is currently closed.

Structure Fire (Dallas)

Battalion 8, Engine 9, and others are working a structure fire in the 500 block of Stark Road. Smoke showing from the garage. Working fire. Battalion 5, Engine 5, Engine 51, Truck 24, Truck 53, and Rescue 5 are all assigned to the box.

Fatal Accident w/ Entrapment (Collin Co)

Princeton FD, Lowry Crossing FD, Collin County EMS, and multiple law enforcement officers have been working a severe head-on collision with entrapment on US 380 just west of Princeton. PHI Med 2 airlifted a patient to Children’s Dallas. CareFlite airlifted a patient to Presbyterian Plano. Significant delays on 380 between McKinney and Princeton.

Major Accident (Keller)

Keller PD is on the scene of a major accident near 377 (N Main) and 1709. PHI Med 10 landed at the scene and has airlifted a patient to Cook Children’s. Reports indicate at least two vehicles involved, one car and one 18-wheeler.

Search (Arlington)

Several Arlington PD and Fort Worth PD officers along with Fort Worth PD Air-1 helicopter and K-9 are searching for at least one robbery suspect in the residential area of Ballpark Way and Royalwood Drive in north Arlington. This is related to a robbery that occurred in east Fort Worth near I30 and Cooks around 10:30pm.

Major Accident (Parker County)

Aledo FD, Cresson FD, Lifecare EMS, and multiple law enforcement are all working a major accident with possible ejection and reported entrapment at Highway 377 and Kelly Road. CareFlite has landed at the scene. Reported one vehicle off the roadway. Multiple patients.

Pursuit End / Search (Mansfield)

Multiple law enforcement are on the scene of a reported pursuit end near Highway 360 and Highway 287 in far south Mansfield. Dallas PD’s Air-1 helicopter is overhead. The pursuit ended around 10:30pm. Heavy police presence in this area.

Update – One suspect in custody! Great job to all PDs on scene.

Campus Lockdown (Corinth)

The North Central Texas College campus in Corinth is on lockdown due to an “armed person on foot reported in the area with a gun.” If you are on the campus, secure yourself immediately and shelter in place. Stay away from campus and do not leave until further notices, advised the College.

Update: According to scanner traffic, officers have searched the whole building and have secured rooms. There are no confirmed sightings of a person with a weapon, just reports of one. If you are at the school, continue to seek shelter as police investigate the situation. A perimeter will be maintained.

Update – DPS-101 helicopter and K-9 are both en route to assist ground units.

*Update – A suspicious person has been taken into custody after taser deployment. A call came in of a suspicious person on foot near the McClain’s RV Store on I35E. Corinth Police now report the lockdown has been lifted.

At approx. 12:30 pm on Friday, September 9, 2016 a male subject, who was involved in a drive by shooting, was involved in a traffic accident on the southbound access road of IH35 in Corinth, Texas. The suspect fled on foot and was seen headed in the direction of the North Central Texas College – Corinth Campus. The NCTC Police Department placed the campus on lockdown. There was information that the suspect had possibly made it to the NCTC campus and was somewhere inside the building. With the assistance of the Corinth Police Department, Hickory Creek Police Department, and the Denton County Sheriff’s Department, a room by room search was conducted. It was learned that the suspect was not on campus. A short time later the suspect was located and taken into custody in the area of the 5600 block of South I35E. At this point, the all clear was given and students, faculty and staff were released to leave the campus.

Major Accident (Ennis)

Ennis FD, Ellis County EMS, and Ennis PD are working a major accident in the 3500 block of W Ennis Ave near the airport. At least two vehicles involved. Medic 191 has launched air medical to the scene. PHI will be landing at the Ennis Airport. 

Motorcycle Accident (Tarrant County)

Eagle Mountain Engine 21, Medic 21, and Tarrant County Sheriffs deputies are on scene of a motorcycle accident in the 7300 block of Ten Mile Bridge Road near Hodgkins Road. One patient in the roadway. CareFlite is on standby.

Update – CareFlite canceled. Medic 21 ground transported a patient to JPS.

Auto Pedestrian (Saginaw)

Saginaw Police are investigating a reported auto vs pedestrian crash in front of Saginaw High School, 800 block of N Blue Mound Road between Rough Rider Dr. and Western Center Blvd. Reports indicate the person was unconscious and not breathing. MedStar EMS ground transported the patient to Cook Children’s.

Update – The victim died at Cook Children’s Hospital. The Medical Examiner has identified the victim as a 10 year old male.

Gas Leak (Addison)

Addison Fire and Police with assistance from Farmers Branch FD are working a major gas leak near the intersection of Marsh Lane and Belt Line Road. Reports indicate a construction crew hit a gas line. ATMOS is on scene. Some businesses in the area have been evacuated. Avoid this area.

3 Alarm Fire (Lake Cities)

Lake Cities FD and multiple mutual aid departments are working a structure fire in the 1000 block of Hickory Creek Road near Waterview Court. Chief 592 was first on scene with a large fire on the property. Heavily involved structure fire. Avoid this area due to large FD presence.

Gas Leak w/ Fire (Arlington)

Quint 7, Engine 7, APD and others are on scene of a gas leak with gas line on fire near Woodside Drive and High Springs Court. Active fire from a broken gas line in front of a house. ATMOS requested emergency response. Woodside Drive is closed.

Major Accident (Granbury)

Granbury Fire & Texas EMS – South Harbor Ct for a major accident, Vehicle versus building. Units on scene with a pick up partially into a building. 2 patients pinned between vehicle and building one patient pinned in vehicle.  EMS placing Air Medical on standby. A-13

Major Accident (Ft Worth)

Battalion 6, Quint 35, Engine 11, FWPD, and multiple MedStar units are working a major accident involving at least one vehicle and a school bus in front of Northwest High School, FM 156 and Texan Drive. MedStar is requesting three ambulances to the scene for multiple transports, but all injuries are reported to be minor.

Major Accident (Ellis County)

ESD #6 firefighters, Ellis County EMS Medic 162 and 505 (EMS Supervisor), Ellis County sheriffs and DPS troopers are working a major accident, reported as a possible auto pedestrian accident, near Butcher Road and Carlton Parkway north of Waxahachie. Medic 162 has launched CareFlite. CareFlite will be landing at Baylor Waxahachie to rendezvous with Medic 162.

Officer Involved Shooting (Dallas)

Dallas PD is investigating an officer involved shooting secondary to a traffic stop/foot pursuit in the 3700 block of W Davis St. According to scanner traffic, an officer pulled over a vehicle at the given location and one person ran on foot from the vehicle. The officer engaged in a foot pursuit and reported the suspect had a weapon. Shots fired. Dallas PD reports all officers are OK and the suspect has been transported to a local hospital. Please avoid this area.

Fatality Crash involving Motorcycle (Arlington)

Arlington PD: The Arlington Police Department responded to a crash on Sunday, August 21, 2016 around 11:00 p.m. in the 2500 block of E. Abram Street. A motorcycle was traveling westbound on Abram Street when it collided with a tractor trailer that was pulling out onto the roadway. The commercial vehicle was towing a trailer and the motorcycle struck the rear of the trailer. The motorcycle operator was pronounced deceased at the scene while the driver of the commercial vehicle was not injured. Investigators will continue to look into the cause of the crash and examine the evidence from the roadway. It is believed that speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash.

Train Derailment Update (Roanoke)

An update to our post from last night. According to the City of Roanoke, Union Pacific announced Hwy 377 (1171 thru Bobcat Blvd) will remain closed & is expected to re-open at 8pm tonight. As of 6 am, 13 of the 26 derailed cars have been cleared, leaving 13 still to be cleared including 2 in the creek bed. Please continue to avoid this area.

Entrapment (Dallas)

Battalion 2, Engine 7, and other DFR units are working an entrapment incident involving a vehicle in the 5400 block of Bent Tree Drive. Person trapped by a vehicle. Urban Search and Rescue units requested to respond to assist with extrication. Battalion 2 is advising the patient it stable.

House Fire (Ft Worth)

E22 on scene in the 4100 blk of S Edgewood Terrace with a single story residential structure with heavy smoke showing. Working fire. E22 requesting next on company to assist with removing burglar bars from the windows for access.

HazMat Incident (Frisco)

Quint 6, Rescue 1, HazMat 1, and others are on scene of an unknown substance, possibly hazardous, leaking on FM 423. FM 423 is closed in all directions near Rockhill Parkway while units investigate the situation. Its best to avoid the area at this time.
Update – Situation is now under control. Substance has been neutralized and cleaned up. Units are clearing. Roadways are being opened

Large Grass Fire (Johnson County)

Cleburne, Joshua, Godley, and other FDs are working a large grass fire in the area of FM 4 and FM 2331 between Cleburne and Godley. Multiple departments have been requested to stage at the Lebanon Baptist Church on FM 4 to assist with the fire. Somervell County is sending multiple units.

Traumatic Injury (Hood County)

Indian Harbor FD and Texas EMS Medic 3 are working a traumatic injury near Heritage Trail and Cedar Crest Court. Reported to be a serious leg injury involving a large rock. CareFlite 9 will be landing near Heritage Trail and Highway 144 just south of Granbury. Avoid this area.

Major Accident (Dallas)

Engine 9, Engine 34, Rescue 54, and Dallas Sheriffs are working a major accident on eastbound CF Hawn Freeway between I20 and Beltline Road. DSO advising DFR ground transported one patient to Baylor Dallas with critical injuries. Major delays on eastbound 175.
