3 Alarm Fire (Arlington)

*Delayed* Arlington FD was dispatched to an apartment fire around 4:15pm this afternoon in the 700 block of E. Sanford Street. Engine 1 advised heavy smoke seen while en route, Battalion 1 requested the 2nd alarm while responding. Engine 1 was first on scene with heavy fire and smoke showing from the apartment building. The fire was just upgraded to 3 alarms. A1


Gas Leak (Frisco)

8 homes have been evacuated near Ridgetop Circle and Milestone Ridge Road due to a natural gas leak. Line hit by a construction crew. FFD and ATMOS on scene.

*Update – Residents can return to homes. Leak stopped. FD is clear of the scene.


Police Activity (Arlington)

From Arlington PD regarding police presence near Lake Arlington: “Around noon today, we responded to bank robbery in the 700 block of W. Sublett. Officers are now in the 7000 block Smugglers Cove – we have reason to believe that the suspect may be in this area. Officers have surrounded a location and are attempting to make contact with the suspect.”

*UPDATE* – Arlington PD: Reference the police activity near 7700 Smugglers Cove, we have suspect in custody. Investigation will continue on alleged robbery offense.


Fatal Accident (Wise Co, Slidell)

Fatal 18 Wheeler Rollover vs. Vehicle (Wise Co, Slidell) Engine 120, Wise Co EMS on scene, 18 wheeler on its side vs. a vehicle with major damage at FM 51 and FM 455. FM 51 will be shut down. Dispatched as possible entrapment. Air Evac 68 is on standby. Decatur FD en route as mutual aid. EMS on scene requesting the Justice of the Peace due to fatality. Updates:

Multi-Injury Incident (Saginaw)

Saginaw Station 14 and MedStar are on scene at Highland Middle School, 20+ kids stung by bees, at least 1 of the patients has serious injuries.

*Update – MedStar reporting 20 (not 24 as they said originally) patients non serious, 1 patient with serious injuries.


Fatal Rollover Accident (Grand Prairie)

Battalion 1 and multiple GPFD, GPPD units are working a major accident on EB I20 feeder road near 161. Rollover accident. Air medical has been launched.

*Update – CareFlite helicopter disregarded. Fatality accident with entrapment. EB I20 under 161 in the grass median between feeder and highway. Expect lane closure for accident investigation.


Fatality Accident (Euless)

Fatality Accident (Euless) Euless PD along with Engine & Medic 551 are on scene of a fatality motorcycle accident in the 1300 block of N Industrial Blvd at Glenn Drive. NB Industrial is shut down at Harwood Road. Crime scene and traffic investigator requested to the scene. A2

Fire Department Open House (Bedford) The Bedford Fire Department is having there annual open house Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 10am-2pm. Come out and enjoy a day filled with family fun and learn about Fire Department.
There will be demonstrations through out the day including vehicle extrication, the FALSE Alarm Gang Clown Show, Fire Extinguisher Demo, and our Arson Dog “Rio” and K-9 Handler.

Activities available for you and your family including Ambulance Tours, Fire Truck Tours, Bomb Unit Tour, Fire Hose Spray, Junior Firefighter Physical Agility Course, Suit-up in Firefighter Bunker Gear, PHI Helicopter Tours, Balloon Animals and a bounce house!

There will be free hot dogs, chips and drinks located on the patio on the east side of the fire station!
Also, help them Kick off the Holiday Food Drive by bringing non perishable food items. A2


Vehicle Fire (Richardson)

Richardson PD has just closed NB US-75 at Midpark due to a major vehicle fire in the NB lanes near Spring Valley. Expect to see smoke and encounter delays.

2:27pm *Update – Accident involves at least an overturned vehicle and a mower on a trailer. Appears the riding lawn mower and trailer caught fire. Left lane now open.


Severe Accident (Gainesville)

Major Accident w/ Entrapment, Multiple EMS Helicopters Launch (Gainesville) Gainesville FD, Cooke County EMS and PD are working a very major accident with multiple medical helicopters requested on I35 near FM 1202 in front of the Gainesville outlet malls. Unknown number of helicopters requested – reports of up to 5. 2 landing now. Accident affects both NB and SB lanes. Expect major delays. Updates to follow. A1

*Update – This is reported to be a head-on collision. Unknown number of injured. At least 2 helicopters have left the scene en route to trauma centers in the DFW Metroplex.

*Update – Reports of 8-9 patients involved. Serious injuries are reported. 5 helicopters were requested.


Fire Department Open House (Haltom City)

Fire Department Open House (Haltom City) It is that time of year again for the annual Haltom City Fire Rescue Open House. The event will take place on Saturday October 11th, 2014 at the Central Fire Station, located at 5525 Broadway Avenue in Haltom City. The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

This year’s event will once again feature free food (State Fair Corn Dogs!), fire safety demonstrations and games for the kids. There also will be a blood drive and canned food donations will be accepted. The Haltom City Fire Safety Clowns will put on a show at noon.

The Insurance Council of Texas, through its “We’re Out to Alarm Texas” program, has donated 100 smoke detectors to the Haltom City Fire Department. These will be available on a first-come first-serve basis to Haltom City low income, elderly, disabled and special needs residents. Sign up to receive one at the 2014 Open House on October 11th and the Haltom City Fire Department will come to your residence and install these free alarms at your convenience. A2

Fire Department Open House (Trophy Club) The department will hold it’s annual fire station open house this Saturday, October 11 from 10:00 – 1:00 at the fire station located at 295 Trophy Club Drive. Tour the station, meet the firefighters, kids bounce house and other fun activities are planned. There will be hot dogs and other treats available from the Trophy Club Emergency Volunteer Association. A2


Fire Department Open House (Murphy)

Fire Department Open House (Murphy) For the ninth year in a row, Murphy Fire Rescue is opening the doors of the fire house and inviting residents to come in, enjoy a hot dog lunch, and learn about how the firefighting force operates. The Fire Station Open House is set for Saturday, Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fire station is located at the Municipal Complex, 206 North Murphy Road. The best options for parking before noon may be the lots east of the Police Department.

In addition to the fire house tours, there will be games, live demonstrations, a coloring contest, a fire truck bounce house, fire safety movies, free hot dogs, popcorn and beverages. A special treat will be the arrival and up-close inspection of an air-evac emergency medical service helicopter.

Photos with everyone’s favorite mascot, Sparky the Fire Dog will be available. A2


SWAT (Arlington)

Arlington Police have apprehended a subject from a SWAT incident atop a tower near Green Oaks and Pioneer in west Arlington. Subject was on top of a ~100 foot tower for the past few hours. A grass fire was also sparked at the tower which prompted AFD response. The subject is now down and en route to a medical facility.

Fire Safety Palooza (Mansfield)

Fire Safety Palooza – The Mansfield Fire Department and its Safety Clowns host this community-wide event Saturday October 4 as part of its National Fire Prevention Week observance. Times are from 10:00 to 4:00 at the Mansfield ISD Center for the Performing Arts located at 110 West Debbie Lane in Mansfield. With a goal of making learning about fire safety fun, families can visit interactive and hands-on demonstrations that will teach fire safety skills and show kids how to prevent fires in the home. Public Safety Public Houses (Euless) Join the Euless Police and Fire Departments as they both host Open Houses this Saturday, October 4 from 10:00 to 2:00pm.
Take advantage of this rare opportunity to take a tour, climb in and out of police cars and fire trucks and ask questions about the facilities.

The Police Department is located at 1102 W Euless Blvd and Fire Station #3 is located at 202 S Main Street.

There will be many activities for children, including bounce houses and safety demonstrations along with members of the Citizen Emergency Response Team, Citizen’s Fire and Police Academy Alumni and Citizens on Patrol.
