Accident (Haltom City)

Accident (Haltom City) Engine 473, along with MedStar and HCPD are working a single vehicle major accident in the 4400 block of Haltom Road. FD/PD advising of one vehicle in the ditch, one patient reported CPR in progress. North Bound Haltom Road is closed. A2


Multi-Injury Accident (Garland)

Garland Police are investigating a serious accident with reported ejections at Lavon Drive and E. Buckingham Road. Reported 2 vehicles involved with multiple ejections. Several people have been transported from this scene. Multiple ambulances were called. Expect delays in the area due to accident investigation.


Major Accident (Dallas)

Battalion 8 and a multitude of DFR, DPD personnel are working a reported rollover accident off westbound 175 (CF Hawn) and Railroad Ave. Battalion 8 has requested assistance from Dallas PD’s Air-1 helicopter to locate a missing victim from this accident. Reported as a vehicle rolled into high water. (Info: Harold Reed)


Lake Rescue (Lewisville)

I-35E Bridge at Lake Lewisville – *Delayed* – LFD Dive Team on scene assisting with removal of a vehicle that drove off the bridge into the lake.  3 people were rescued from the water by bystanders before FD arrived.   A3


Evacuations (Carrollton)

Carrollton PD are advising residents in the Sandy Lake RV and Mobile Home Park off Sandy Lake Road west of I35E need to evacuate. Public safety personnel have been notifying residents this morning. The RV park is under water, as is Sandy Lake Road west of I35E. Avoid this area!


Accident w/ Entrapment (Rio Vista)

Engine 76, CareFlite ground medic 307 and law enforcement on scene, 9400 block of Highway 171 near FM 916, rollover accident with entrapment. Engine 76 advising a single vehicle on its roof with major damage. Avoid this area and watch for emergency vehicles.


Weather Info Update (Dallas)

The City of Dallas just wrapped up a press conference out at Loop 12 and I30. City of Dallas spokesperson Sana Syed says Dallas Fire and Police personnel responded to hundreds of high water/flooding calls overnight. Dallas Fire Rescue performed 10 high water rescues. A TxDOT spokesperson confirmed all northbound and southbound lanes of Loop 12 at I30 will be closed for “several days” due to the amount of water on the roadway. Unfortunately, Dallas PD confirmed one weather/flood related fatality near California Crossing Road and Northwest Highway earlier today. And since more rain is on the way late tonight and tomorrow, DPD says residents should simply “stay home, watch a movie, and cook some popcorn.” Sounds like a good plan to me. Be safe, all.


Flooded Highway (Dallas)

All lanes of northbound & southbound Loop 12 remain closed near I30 due to significant flooding on the highway. This is affecting all lanes of Loop 12 directly under I30. Major delays in both directions. Avoid this area!!


Hazardous Materials (Garland)

Garland FD is on scene with reported several people who have inhaled an unknown type hazardous chemical at a commercial business in the 2900 block of Kingsley Road. Health and hazards departments have been requested to the scene. Please avoid this area.


Water Release (Possum Kingdom)

**Residents along the Brazos River**
Brazos River Authority: “Possum Kingdom Lake, At 1am on Friday May 29, 2015 one gate will be opened for a total release of 9000 cubic feet per second. Please be alert for rising water conditions within the river. Increased inflow may cause additional gates to be opened.”


Water Rescue (Briaroaks)

Briaroaks FD has requested Mansfield FD swift water team to the 7100 block of Merrill Court for a high water rescue. Battalion 1 and Rescue 1 from Mansfield FD are responding at this time.

Flooding (Arlington)

Arlington PD are attempting to block off East Abram St east of Highway 360 between Osler Drive and Great Southwest Parkway due to major flooding over the roadway. Barricades have been requested. Turn around, don’t drown!


Water Rescue (Parker Co, Millsap)

FD personnel have rescued at least one person from their residence in the 1500 block of Brazos Rock Road along the Brazos River. Brush trucks are assisting residents in this area. This area is several miles north of Horseshoe Bend, the subdivision under evacuation notice.


House Fire (Rendon)

Rendon FD is on scene with heavy fire thru the roof of a large residence in the 6500 block of Storm Cat Lane. Working fire. Mansfield and other mutual aid departments have been requested to the scene.


House Fire (Southlake)

NOW House Fire (Southlake): Battalion 40, Engine 403 on scene in the 2200 block of N Peytonville Avenue reporting a large two story residence with heavy fire showing from the attic. Mutual aid responding from Westlake, Keller and Colleyville. A2


Accident w/ Entrapment (Krum)

Around 5am this morning, Krum FD was called to a major accident with entrapment at FM 1173 and Lovers Lane. Krum Chief 582 first on scene with a single vehicle major damage. Vehicle hit a telephone pole and fence. One occupant on the ground and one occupant trapped in the vehicle. Engine 581 had extrication. Medic 582 and Denton EMS Medic 5 transported both patients to Denton Regional, serious traumatic injuries to both. Air medical was not available due to weather.


Water Rescues (DFW)

Its been a busy morning across north Texas with multiple swift water rescues. Dallas Fire Rescue swift water rescue team rescued two individuals from a high water situation at California Crossing park. Irving FD reported around 7 vehicles stranded in high water overnight near N. Beltline and Grande Bulevar Blvd. Prosper FD and Little Elm FD with assistance from state assets worked a high water rescue this morning in Prosper near Legacy Drive and Parvin Road. There have been several other high water rescues throughout north Texas. Remember, if you drive through high water across the roadway and get stuck or even worse swept away, you then endanger the lives of emergency responders who have to rescue you. Turn around – don’t drown.


SWAT Incident (Lewisville)

*Delayed for personnel safety* Lewisville PD and SWAT have resolved a barricaded person incident at the Platinum Castle Hills apartments on Windhaven Parkway. The standoff between a suicidal & armed individual and police started earlier this morning near 10:30am. Suspect is in custody at this time. Remember, DFW Scanner​ does not post active SWAT calls or other major police situations until the incident has been resolved.


Triple Fatality Accident (Hurst)

Hurst FD/EMS, Hurst PD, Fort Worth FD and MedStar are working a major accident with rollover and three fatalities at SH 121 and 820. Reported car crashed off the overpass and landed on highway. Still confirming direction of travel. Its best to avoid the SH 121 and 820 interchange.


Fire in a Restaurant (Plano)

Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Engine 11, Truck 1, Truck 4, Medic 1, Battalions 1 & 2 are working a structure fire at Abuelo’s, 3420 Central Expressway. Restaurant has been evacuated. Possible fire in the ceiling. Interior crews are working to pull insulation and locate source of smoke inside.


Fire at a School (Colleyville)

Colleyville FD along with mutual aid departments are working a structure fire at Bransford Elementary School, 601 Glade Road. Reported fire out in one room. Sprinklers activated with some light smoke still in the school. Evacuations have been completed. No reports of injuries. Please avoid the scene.


Flooding (far North Fort Worth)

Areas along Highway 114 in far north Fort Worth are under water due to heavy morning rains. D Mart, a convenience store located on Highway 114 just west of 156, is reportedly flooded (Picture on social media). The school bus accident is just east of this location. The roadway is flooded. John Day Road is also flooded out just south of Highway 114 as is the 500 block of Keller Haslet Road, both in the Haslet area. Turn around – don’t drown!


School Bus Accident (Ft Worth)

FWFD Engine 11 is on scene with an accident involving a school bus on Highway 114 just east of 156 (Blue Mound Rd). Quint 35 is responding to shut down lanes of Highway 114. Justin FD is also responding to this accident. Unknown injuries at this time. The school bus is upright.


Potential for Flooding (Denton Co, Krum)

Fire and police personnel are back in the area of Odneal Road to warn residents of the potential for additional flooding. Evacuations might be needed as more rainfall is expected the next several hours. As far as we have heard, no evacuations have been given at this time. If you live west of Krum, you need to closely monitor the situation throughout the morning (especially if you were flooded last week).


Structure Fire (Collin County)

Multiple Collin County FDs are working a 2 story house fire in the 12000 block of County Road 220. Reported lightning strike to a large 2 story house. Heavy fire throughout the attic. Anna, Melissa, Celina, Weston, Van Alstyne, and Gunter FDs on scene battling the blaze.


Officer Involved Shooting (Arlington)

Arlington PD is investigating an officer involved shooting in the 5700 block of Longhorn Lane. This is related to the earlier police pursuit we posted around 2:30pm. Reported burglary suspect tried to run over an officer. Officer gave chase in vehicle to I20, but lost sight on westbound I20 near 287. A person inside the home was OK and did not need EMS. Arlington PD are working this as an officer involved shooting.


Manhunt (DFW Airport)

DFW Airport police and Bedford K-9 are searching for at least one suspect involved in a reported theft incident at a gas well site west of the Airport. Reported suspect on the loose in the woods between 360 and the Airport. Ground units are requesting assistance from Fort Worth or Dallas police helicopters.

*Update – Search is being suspended at this time. The investigation will continue.


Flooded Area (Johnson County)

Johnson County Emergency Management is reporting multiple high water vehicle and structure rescues in the Alvarado area. Alvarado FD is reporting “feet” of water over I35. Johnson County EM states that travel conditions are not safe east of I35 to 287, and north of Highway 67 to FM 917. This includes Alvarado, Lillian, and south Mansfield.


Officer Involved Shooting (Grand Prairie)

Info from Grand Prairie Police​: At about 6:20 p.m., a Grand Prairie Police Officer working an off duty assignment near the 1800 block of Southeast 14th was notified of a disturbance involving people fighting with weapons. The officer found the men fighting and ordered them to drop their weapons. Two individuals with poles dropped the weapons but one suspect with a large rock, refused and aggressively moved towards the officer. The officer retreated to the rear of his patrol car while giving numerous commands for the suspect to drop the rock. The suspect raised the rock to strike the officer and the officer fired his weapon to prevent the suspect from striking him.

The investigation revealed that the suspect had assaulted a female with the large rock prior to the officers arrival. Witnesses also stated passing motorists attempted to stop the suspect from continued assaults on the female.

The first responding officers immediately began to treat the suspects injuries by applying a tourniquet to his leg, most likely saving the suspects life.

The suspect, a Hispanic male in his 30’s, was transported to a local hospital where he is expected to recover.


Major Accident (Wise Co, Rhome)

Rhome FD, Wise County EMS, and law enforcement are on scene of an accident involving at least one 18 wheeler affecting northbound and southbound 287 near 114 in Rhome. Only the shoulder gets by on southbound 287. A jack-knifed 18 wheeler has also crashed on the northbound side off the roadway. Expect delays in this area.


Auto vs. Building (Dallas)

Multiple DFR and DPD units are on scene of a vehicle into a residential apartment building in the 1700 block of W. 10th Street. Unknown injuries at this time. Dispatched as possible entrapment. Substantial damage to the structure.


Rollover Accident (Frisco)

Battalion 1, Engine 1 on scene of a rollover accident southbound Preston Road near Centenary Way. Vehicle upside down in the median. No entrapment. Serious injuries reported. CareFlite was on standby, but has been disregarded. Will transport to Medical Center of Plano via ground.


Motorcycle Accident (Dallas)

Dallas PD and Dallas County Sheriffs are on scene of a motorcycle accident near I35E and Woodall Rogers. Motorcycle reportedly hit wall on the exit ramp to go towards the Margaret Hunt Hill bridge and fell off the overpass. Rider landed in a small field near the McDonald’s off Riverfront Blvd and Continental Ave. Dallas PD reports major injuries. Dallas Fire is also on scene to transport.


Fatal Accidents Update (Johnson County)

A sad follow-up on two different fatal accidents yesterday in Johnson County.

The first occurred on northbound I35W near US-67 in Alvarado. According to APD, a vehicle traveling southbound I35W hydroplaned into oncoming lanes of NB I35W. A young 10 year old girl was killed in this accident.

The second occurred on Highway 174 between Rio Vista and Cleburne near CR 1112. The accident involved at least 3 vehicles with major damage, from what we heard. A 24-year-old woman died at the scene. A 38-year-old male was airlifted to Harris downtown, but died at the hospital.

Our prayers are with these victim’s families.


Rollover w/ Entrapment (Plano)

Engine 1, Truck 1 on scene of a rollover accident northbound 75 near Legacy, all northbound lanes to be closed. At least one trapped in the rolled vehicle. Multiple people injured, requesting an additional two ambulances. At least 2 people with major injuries.


Multiple Water Rescues (Krum)

Krum FD with assistance from other fire and law enforcement departments are working multiple water rescues west of Krum off FM 1173. Officials are reporting at least 2 feet of water over FM 1173 near Odneal Road. At least one rescue on Odneal Road.


House Fire (Little Elm)

Chief 621, Battalion 621, Engine 621 on scene with heavy smoke showing from the roof of a 2 story house in the 300 block of Willowlake Drive. Home owners are on scene and advising everyone is out of the house. Working fire. Offensive operations.


House Fire (Haltom City)

House Fire (Haltom City) Engine 474, Battalion 47, Truck 471 on scene in the 4200 block of Goodnight Circle reporting a single story brick residence with smoke showing. Watauga Quint 311, FWFD Quint 9 & Engine 31 also on scene. Reported lightning strike at the location. A2


Storm Damage (DFW)

7:22am – Grapevine and Lewisville FDs are both reporting damage in their cities. Grapevine FD reports mainly trees, fences, and power lines down in the area of Tumbleweed Trail. Lewisville FD reports several buildings damaged across their city, some considerably damaged.


Highway Closure / Flooding (Hood County)

According to Hood County News, officials are reportedly shutting down Highway 377 in west Granbury near the Business 377 split due to high water over the roadway. There is also at least one water rescue near Acton where firefighters and EMS personnel have rescued multiple people.


Fatality Accident (Dallas)

Dallas Fire and Police are on the scene of a single vehicle fatality accident in the 700 block of W. Clarendon Drive near Tyler Street. Dallas PD is advising a single vehicle crashed into a creek. Dallas FD’s Urban Search and Rescue team is on scene to assist.


Traumatic Injury (Flower Mound)

Battalion 501, Engine 501, Medic 501 are about to land CareFlite at the Mormon church parking lot near Stapleton Lane and Kirkpatrick Lane to airlift out an individual with traumatic injuries from a fall. CareFlite should be landing shortly. Avoid this area.


Fatal Motorcycle Accident (Grand Prairie)

Grand Prairie PD is investigating a fatal motorcycle accident last night just before 9:30pm at S. Grand Peninsula Drive and Roble. A sport biker traveling at a high rate of speed lost control, left the roadway, and hit a fire hydrant. The rider died at the scene. The collision remains under investigation.


SWAT Incident (Mansfield)

*Delayed for personnel safety* Mansfield PD is advising a SWAT incident off Zachary Court near Country Club Drive and Matlock Road has ended. No injuries. “Most officers have cleared the area and local roads have been reopened” according to Mansfield PD.


Auto Pedestrian (Waxahachie)

CareFlite 3 has landed at the hospital helipad near Grand Ave and Jefferson St to airlift out a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Original accident location reported to be off I35E feeder road near 287 bypass. CareFlite ground EMS is transporting the patient to the helipad. Battalion 1, Engine 1, and others working the accident.


Tornado Watch (DFW)

The Tornado WATCH has been extended south and now includes the immediate Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex until 3am. Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton, Wise, Parker, Hunt, Rockwall, Fannin, Grayson, Palo Pinto, Stephens, Montague, and Jack counties all included.


House Fire (Haltom City)

House Fire (Haltom City) Quint 472, Truck 471, Battalion 47 on scene in the 2200 block of Minnie Street reporting a fully involved garage fire that has spread to the attic. Battalion 47 has command of a defensive fire. FWFD Quint 9 also responding. A2


Departmental Accident (Saginaw)

Saginaw FD and PD were working an accident near Saginaw Blvd and Bailey Boswell when a vehicle struck a police vehicle and the fire truck. There are no reported injuries to any public safety responders on scene. Chiefs responding to the accident.


Pursuit/Crash (Wise Co, Boyd)

A high speed chase ended in a rollover accident with ejection early this morning around 1:30am near Boyd (Wise County). Wise County sheriffs pursued the driver south on FM 730 near Boyd when the vehicle flipped and ejected one of the passengers. The ejected occupant was flown by CareFlite into Fort Worth.


Accident w/ Entrapment (Joshua)

Joshua FD, ESD Engine 290, Burleson FD, CareFlite ground and air as well as law enforcement are on scene of a major accident with entrapment in the 1500 block of S. Broadway (174). Extrication has been completed and CareFlite air has lifted from the scene en route to Harris.
