SWAT Incident (Dallas)

 *Delayed for officer safety* Dallas PD and SWAT officers have ended a police situation at a business near Frankford & Midway in north Dallas. Officers were called to a robbery this morning with a suspect possibly still on scene. The business was surrounded and SWAT was called in. After a thorough search of the business and the surrounding businesses, Dallas PD did not locate a suspect inside the store. The suspect remains at large. *DFW Scanner delays SWAT incidents and other sensitive police situations until after they have been resolved.*


Vehicle/Foot Pursuit (Hill/Johnson counties)

Hill County sheriffs were pursuing a truck when it wrecked out off CR 1106 near CR 1223 in Rio Vista (Johnson County). Suspect fled on foot. Officers are checking on the availability of K-9 and a DPS helicopter to assist with the search.

Update – White male possibly wearing a hoodie is the best description the officer could see. DPS chopper en route.

Update – Suspect located and is in custody. Great job to HCSO and all assisting agencies.


House Fire (Ft Worth)

Engine 22 on scene with heavy smoke and fire showing from a one story house in the 3700 block of Pate Drive. Working fire. Battalion 4, Truck 14, Engine 14, Engine 4, Engine 3, Quint 24, EMS 99, Safety 1, Utility 6, and others assigned to the fire.


Accident w/ Entrapment (Lewisville)

Lewisville FD has launched PHI air medical to the scene of an accident with entrapment on southbound I35E just before Valley Ridge. Landing zone for the helicopter will be near the accident scene.

Update – Extended extrication complete. PHI Med 10 has landed at Lewisville High. Lewisville EMS about to transport from accident to landing zone.

Update – PHI Med 10 airlifting to Medical Center of Plano.


STORM DAMAGED INFO

Information will be updated throughout the day as more information becomes available.

*Ellis County*
Affected areas: far north portions of Ellis County and far south portions of Dallas county. Cities of Glenn Heights, Ovilla, and Waxahachie all report damage.
Damage: 101 structures damaged, 50% destroyed or major damage. 17 square miles damaged.
Injuries: A few injuries
Fatalities: None
Shelter:
Volunteers: Non-profits, churches and organizations wanting to assist tornado victims should contact Red Cross.

*Dallas County*
Affected areas: eastern Dallas County. Cities of Sunnyvale, Garland, and Rowlett.
Damage: Widespread. Hundreds of structures damaged or completely destroyed.
Injuries: 30+
Fatalities: 8
Shelter: Gale Fields Recreation Center in Garland, Steadham Elementary at 6200 Dandridge in Rowlett.
Volunteers: Need for volunteers is still being assessed.

*Collin County*
Affected areas: east and northeast Collin County. Cities of Farmersville, Nevada, and Copeville.
Damage: Structures damaged or completely destroyed (no word on count yet)
Injuries: Unknown
Fatalities: 3
Shelter: First Baptist Church in Farmersville

Tornado WATCH (North Texas)

The NWS Fort Worth has issued a Tornado WATCH for all of north Texas — including the DFW Metroplex — until 8pm tonight. The environment is favorable for supercell thunderstorms that could produce tornadoes. Remain alert and have a way to receive weather alerts!


Trauma Injury (Ft Worth)

Engine 34 has launched CareFlite 8 to the scene of a trauma injury in the 14000 block of Tanglebrush Trail. Reported as a significant hand injury from a firework explosion. Engine 41 has the landing zone. MedStar on scene providing patient care.


Train vs Pedestrian (Arlington)

Battalion 1, Truck 1, Engine 1, EMS supervisor 802, Arlington EMS and APD are on scene of a reported train vs pedestrian along the railroad tracks at Bowen Road between Abram and Division. A victim has been located, not conscious but has a pulse. EMS requesting stokes basket to rescue the victim.

Update – Helicopter was launched to the scene but disregarded due to traumatic arrest. CPR in progress. Ground transported to JPS.


Hot Pursuit (Alvarado)

Alvarado PD was in high speed pursuit of a motorcycle, but the pursuit has been terminated on I20 in Arlington for safety reasons. Reported as at least motorcycle traveling at 100+ mph. DPS troopers in Grandview were trying to nab a group of motorcyclists on I35 and that’s when Alvarado Police caught up with the group. Sounds like two motorcycles exited the freeway and APD chased one into Arlington, but terminated.


Rollover X2 (Ft Worth)

PIC – Fort Worth FD Quint 24, Quint 33, Attack 33, MedStar and Fort Worth PD are all working a double rollover accident on Amon Carter Blvd at 183. Reported as a shuttle bus and a cement mixer involved, both rolled over. One ground transport to JPS.  (Picture: Richard Harris)

Hot Pursuit (Cleburne)

Cleburne officers have taken a subject into custody from a near 30 minute vehicle pursuit through the streets of Cleburne. The pursuit started off Wilhite Street near downtown when one officer noticed a vehicle was fleeing from him. Cleburne’s finest chased the suspect throughout the city and the pursuit came to an end at around 12:45am in the 700 block of Barber Ave.


Shooting (Dallas)

Dallas PD is investigating a shooting in the 9500 block of Forest Lane, reported to be at the Budget Suites of America. A Dallas officer arrived on the scene very shortly after being notified of the incident and requested Dallas Fire Rescue for a victim. The scene has been closed off for investigation.


Shooting (Ft Worth)

Fort Worth PD is investigating a shooting in the 6700 block of Friendsway Drive. There was a report of shots heard in the area of I35W and Western Center just before 10pm tonight, which prompted a search of the area. Fort Worth PD’s Air-1 helicopter flew over the area for about 15 minutes. About an hour later, FWPD, FWFD and MedStar were called to a possible gunshot wound victim in the 6700 block of Friendsway Drive, not too far from I35W and Western Center. It is not immediately known if these two incidents are related. There is a heavy FWPD presence in the neighborhood. MedStar has ground transported the shooting victim to JPS with serious injuries.

*UPDATE* Fort Worth PD is advising this is an officer involved shooting.


Major Accident (Parker County)

Occurred around 5:15am – Peaster Fire, LifeCare Medic 13, EMS 10, PCSO, DPS, and Air Evac 55 all responded to a rollover accident with entrapment involving a large commercial truck in the 7000 block of FM 920. CPR was successfully administered by crews on scene. Air Evac 55 airlifted to JPS. It is not yet confirmed if the result was a fatality accident.


House Fire (Saginaw)

Saginaw FD along with mutual aid from Haslet, Blue Mound, Eagle Mountain, and Lake Worth FDs are all working a 2 alarm house fire in the 500 block of Willowview Drive. Fire thru the roof of a residential structure.


Gas Leak (Frisco)

Battalion 2, Quint 4, HazMat, Frisco PD and ATMOS are on scene of a gas leak in a residential area, 5000 block of Normandy Drive near Touraine Drive. There are a handful of evacuations in this area due to the leak.

Update – The City of Frisco has issued a new ‘stop work order’ to all contractors affiliated with AT&T fiber installation following today’s second gas line break related to the project.


Accident w/ Entrapment (Briaroaks)

Briaroaks FD, CareFlite ground EMS and law enforcement are working a major accident with entrapment in the 3200 block of FM 731 north of 917. Reported patient partially ejected through the windshield. CF Medic 904 reporting extended extrication required. Medical helicopter has been launched to the scene.

Update – Extrication complete. CareFlite 6 landing shortly.


Bomb Threat (Coppell)

Coppell Fire and Police are working a bomb threat at a business in the 800 block of W Bethel Road. DFW Airport’s Bomb Squad team has been requested to the scene. The building has been evacuated. 

Update – Device was not found to be hazardous. Threat cleared.


Accident w/ Entrapment (Alvarado)

Alvarado Fire, CareFlite ground medic 903 and law enforcement are all working a major accident with entrapment at N Cummings Drive and Country Manor. Reported as a vehicle vs tree with entrapment. Alvarado FD advising heavy damage.

Update – Extrication complete. Ground transport to JPS.


Fatality Accident (Rio Vista)

Rio Vista FD and law enforcement are working a fatality accident on Hwy 174 at Old Foamy Road. All lanes closed. Reported 18 wheeler vs a vehicle. While working the accident scene, a Rio Vista fire truck was struck. No firefighters injured at the scene. Investigation is ongoing.


Fatality Accident (Arlington)

Quint 8, Arlington EMS, APD and others are working a fatality accident with entrapment off Randy Snow Road north of Lamar Blvd. Command advising a single fatality at the scene. Extrication in progress.

Update – This is now a double fatality accident. The second fatality was transported from the scene, but died at the hospital. Vehicle traveling at high speeds crashed off the roadway. Investigation ongoing.


Accident w/ Entrapment (Parker County)

Engine 54, Engine 51, LifeCare Medic 22, EMS 10, Azle FD, PD and law enforcement are all working a reported head-on collision with entrapment at S FM 730 and Greg Street. Very major damage reported. Extensive extrication is in progress at this time.

Update – Confirmed fatality accident.


Grass/Brush Fire (Ponder)

Grass/Brush Fire (Ponder) 9000 Blk FM2449 – Ponder FD on scene of a 5-10 acre grass fire moving quickly. Difficult access due to soft ground. One brush truck already stuck in mud and structures threatened. Justin FD enroute mutual aid. A3


Burn Victim (Ft Worth)

Engine 37 and MedStar are working a burn victim in the 10300 block of Barbuda Trail. CareFlite has been launched to the scene with instructions to rendezvous with MedStar at THR Alliance helipad. Reported serious burns to victim’s face as a result of a rubbish fire.


Rollover w/ Entrapment (Frisco)

Engine 3, Medic 6 and others on scene of a rollover accident with entrapment at Frisco St and Sports Village Dr. At least two vehicles involved, one on its top. One person trapped with serious injuries. Battalion 2 has command, Rescue 1 and Truck 3 have extrication in progress.


Major Accident (Rendon)

Engine 26, Medic 226 on scene of a major accident, reported head-on collision with serious injuries at Rendon New Hope Road and Hopper Road. Medic 226 advising multiple patients with serious injuries. Ambulances requested from Mansfield and Everman to assist with multiple patients. CareFlite was on standby, but has been disregarded.


House Fire (Farmers Branch)

Farmers Branch FD is working a house fire in the 13400 block of Janwood Drive. Heavy fire thru the roof. Interior crews report heavy fire in the attic. Expect heavy black smoke to be visible.

Update – Defensive fire operations at this time. Ordering firefighters out of the house due to heavy fire involvement.


*This Morning* Major Accident (Dallas County)

Earlier this morning, Dallas County Fire Rescue, Wilmer FD, Combine FD, CareFlite ground EMS and law enforcement all responded to a major accident at Malloy Bridge Road and Malloy Bridge Circle. Reported as a person ejected from one of the vehicles involved. CareFlite airlifted one to Baylor Dallas. A Dallas county sheriffs deputy was also involved in the crash, but did not sustain major injuries.


Rollover w/ Entrapment (Waxahachie)

Information from the Waxahachie Daily-Light: TRAFFIC ALERT: First responders are working a major accident near the Valero gas station at U.S. 77 and U.S. 287. At least two people are being transported to area hospitals, with one of them being flown by helicopter to DFW. Avoid the area because part of U.S. 77 is shut down.


Major Accident (Frisco)

Truck 3, Engine 3, Medic 6 and DPS troopers are working a major accident on northbound Dallas N Tollway near Eldorado Pkwy. Reported multiple vehicles involved with major damage. Only one lane open. Fortunately no major injuries have been reported.


Apartment Fire (Euless)

PIC – Euless FD, Grapevine FD, Bedford FD, DFW Airport FD, Haltom City FD and more all responded to a multi-alarm apartment fire this morning in the 200 block of Bear Creek Drive in Euless. Firefighters rescued four people and several pets from the burning apartment. (Picture: Euless Fire Department​)

Accident w/ Entrapment (Grandview)

Grandview FD, CareFlite ground EMS, and law enforcement are working a major accident with entrapment on southbound I35W at the US-81 exit for Grandview. Extrication is in progress. Second ambulance requested to the scene along with a medical helicopter.

Update – CareFlite 7 has airlifted to JPS.


Trauma Injury (Grapevine)

Battalion 56, Quint 5, Medic 5, and Engine 1 are working a traumatic injury involving amputation at a location off FM 2499 near the Grapevine and Flower Mound city limit. CareFlite has been launched to the scene. 

Update – CareFlite airlifting to Baylor Dallas.


Earthquake (Irving)

The USGS confirms a preliminary 2.8 magnitude earthquake struck at 3:35pm off 114 near Vince Gagan Drive in Irving. This is down the road from the “normal” spot for the quakes in Irving by the old Texas Stadium.


Lockdown (Ft Worth)

Statement from Fort Worth ISD regarding Arlington Heights High School lockdown: “Arlington Heights High School is in lockdown because a student is believed to have fired one shot from a gun while OFF CAMPUS at a nearby fast food restaurant. NOTHING HAPPENED ON THE ARLINGTON HEIGHTS CAMPUS. NO ONE WAS INJURED AT ALL. Students are in lockdown while campus leaders make sure everything is under control. More information will be released as it becomes available.”
